The Opportunity:
As the Director of PE and Sport, you will lead a vibrant and well-equipped department, driving the development of competitive and recreational sports programs across all age groups. This role is pivotal in shaping the school’s sporting identity and enhancing student engagement through physical education and extracurricular activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive PE and sport strategy that aligns with the school’s educational goals.
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality PE lessons, clubs, and sports squads across all year groups.
- Enhance the school’s competitive performance by managing fixtures and partnerships with FOBISIA and Nord Anglia Education.
- Promote a culture of inclusivity, teamwork, and excellence in sport and physical education.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and innovative approach to teaching and learning in PE.
- Manage and maintain state-of-the-art facilities, including swimming pools and multi-use sport halls.
- Support the growth of both academic and recreational sports programs, ensuring student engagement and development.
- Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and external stakeholders to promote the school’s sporting ethos.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven leadership experience in a school PE or sport department.
- Strong background in teaching PE across a broad age range, including IGCSE and A level.
- Experience in managing sports fixtures and leading extracurricular clubs and squads.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Ability to develop and deliver high-quality PE lessons and programs.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of respect, integrity, and inclusivity.
Preferred
- Experience in international school environments or with multicultural teams.
- Familiarity with British and Vietnamese educational systems and values.
- Knowledge of sports coaching and athlete development.
- Experience with curriculum design and assessment in PE.
- Strong leadership and strategic planning skills.
