The Opportunity:

A school is seeking a Director of Science to provide leadership and guidance during a maternity leave period. This role offers the chance to influence and inspire a team of highly qualified staff in a modern, well-equipped setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the Science department with a focus on raising standards and inspiring student engagement.
  • Support and mentor staff to enhance teaching and learning practices across the department.
  • Implement strategies to ensure the delivery of high-quality Science education aligned with the school’s vision.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the curriculum and drive whole-school improvement.
  • Foster a culture of continuous professional development and innovation in Science teaching.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department to ensure consistent excellence.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including parents and external partners, to promote the Science department.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of state-of-the-art facilities in Science teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven leadership experience in a Science department within a school setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and support teaching staff.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and student welfare.
  • Experience in driving improvement and raising academic standards.

Preferred
