The Opportunity:

As the Director of Sixth Form, you will provide strategic leadership and management of the Sixth Form, ensuring academic and pastoral excellence. This role is pivotal to the school’s success, with responsibility for admissions, student welfare, and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Sixth Form.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the academic and pastoral development of the Sixth Form.
  • Oversee the performance of Senior Tutors and support staff, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate admissions, marketing, and outreach initiatives for the Sixth Form.
  • Provide guidance and support on student welfare, safeguarding, and pastoral care.
  • Work closely with the Head of Careers and UCAS Office to support students in their university applications.
  • Promote the school’s values and mission through leadership and collaboration with staff and students.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with significant experience in senior leadership roles.
  • Proven track record in post-16 education and curriculum development.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience in safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Ability to inspire students and staff and lead a team effectively.

Preferred

  • Experience in managing admissions and marketing for Sixth Form.
  • Familiarity with the Harpur Trust and its educational initiatives.
  • Experience in leading a large and diverse student cohort.
  • Knowledge of higher education and university admissions processes.
