The Opportunity:

As the Director of Sport, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality sport education for senior and sixth form girls. This is a maternity cover role, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student development, extra-curricular engagement, and the overall sporting culture of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and develop a comprehensive sports programme for senior and sixth form girls.
  • Deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 to KS5, preparing students for GCSE, A-Levels, and BTEC.
  • Lead and support the development of an extra-curricular programme that promotes both elite and mass participation in sport.
  • Foster a culture of excellence in sport, inspiring students, staff, and parents.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to integrate digital technology into teaching and learning.
  • Ensure alignment with the school's ethos and values, promoting creativity and reflection in all aspects of the role.
  • Support the school's mission by prioritizing student well-being and success in all areas of development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a sport science or sports-related degree.
  • Proven experience in teaching and coaching sport at senior and sixth form levels.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality lessons across a range of key stages.
  • Experience in developing and managing an extra-curricular sports programme.
  • Strong commitment to the school's ethos and values.

Preferred

  • Experience as a Head of Physical Education or in a senior leadership role.
  • Familiarity with innovative and flexible curriculum delivery.
  • Experience in using digital technology to enhance teaching and learning.
