The Opportunity:
As the Director of Sport, you will lead and inspire a dynamic team focused on delivering high-quality sport education for senior and sixth form girls. This is a maternity cover role, offering an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student development, extra-curricular engagement, and the overall sporting culture of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a comprehensive sports programme for senior and sixth form girls.
- Deliver high-quality lessons across KS3 to KS5, preparing students for GCSE, A-Levels, and BTEC.
- Lead and support the development of an extra-curricular programme that promotes both elite and mass participation in sport.
- Foster a culture of excellence in sport, inspiring students, staff, and parents.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate digital technology into teaching and learning.
- Ensure alignment with the school's ethos and values, promoting creativity and reflection in all aspects of the role.
- Support the school's mission by prioritizing student well-being and success in all areas of development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a sport science or sports-related degree.
- Proven experience in teaching and coaching sport at senior and sixth form levels.
- Ability to deliver high-quality lessons across a range of key stages.
- Experience in developing and managing an extra-curricular sports programme.
- Strong commitment to the school's ethos and values.
Preferred
- Experience as a Head of Physical Education or in a senior leadership role.
- Familiarity with innovative and flexible curriculum delivery.
- Experience in using digital technology to enhance teaching and learning.
