The Opportunity:

As a Drama Teacher, you will inspire students from Year 9 to Year 13 with high-quality teaching and contribute to a dynamic co-curricular programme. This role offers the chance to be involved in productions, workshops, and theatre visits, while also playing a key role in the school’s pastoral and academic life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Drama across all key stages, including GCSE and A Level.
  • Deliver engaging and innovative lessons that inspire student creativity and performance.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme through theatre productions, workshops, and theatre visits.
  • Support students’ personal development and well-being through pastoral responsibilities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the quality of drama education and student experiences.
  • Participate in the wider life of the school, including events and community activities.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and assessment in line with school expectations.
  • Stay up to date with developments in drama education and incorporate new ideas into teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree in a relevant subject.
  • A willingness to obtain a formal teaching qualification if not already held.
  • Experience in teaching or performing in drama.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to working with young people and promoting their development.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching GCSE and A Level Drama.
  • Experience in school theatre productions or related areas.
  • A background in education or a related field.
  • Familiarity with drama pedagogy and assessment methods.
  • Experience working in a school or educational environment.
