The Opportunity:

As a Dutch Language Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the linguistic and cultural development of students within the IB MYP and DP frameworks. This is an opportunity to inspire young minds and foster a love of language and literature in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a dynamic Dutch Language Acquisition and Literature curriculum aligned with IB standards.
  • Foster critical thinking, cultural awareness, and analytical skills through engaging and inquiry-based teaching.
  • Design and implement assessments that measure student progress and support individual growth.
  • Provide meaningful feedback to students that encourages reflection and academic achievement.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes collaboration, respect, and curiosity.
  • Stay updated with developments in language teaching and IB pedagogy, integrating innovative methods into lessons.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to support cross-curricular learning and school events.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate regularly with parents regarding academic progress.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Dutch Language & Literature, Linguistics, or a related field with a valid teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience teaching Dutch Language Acquisition and/or Literature to secondary students.
  • Familiarity with the IB MYP and/or DP frameworks or willingness to undergo IB training.
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student-centered, inquiry-based learning.

Preferred

  • Experience with NTC (Nederlandse Taal en Cultuur) programmes.
  • Experience in international education.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster inclusive and culturally responsive learning environments.
