The Opportunity:

As a Dyslexia and EAL Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Dyslexia and English as an Additional Language (EAL) across Key Stages 3 and 4. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students, ensuring they are included, confident, and independent learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on dyslexia screening and interventions for students across Key Stages 3 and 4
  • Coordinate EAL provision and support for students with English as an additional language
  • Track and report on student progress and outcomes regularly
  • Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning
  • Develop and implement inclusive strategies and resources for students with Dyslexia and EAL needs
  • Support the SEND and Inclusion team in delivering a cohesive and effective support framework
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on dyslexia, EAL, and inclusive teaching practices
  • Ensure all safeguarding responsibilities are met and maintained

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Relevant qualifications and/or experience in dyslexia, literacy, EAL or SEND
  • Experience of working with secondary-aged students
  • Clear understanding of inclusive practice and safeguarding responsibilities
  • Excellent organisational, communication and ICT skills
  • Professional, calm and collaborative approach with the ability to build positive relationships with students

Preferred

  • Experience in a similar role within a school setting
  • Knowledge of dyslexia screening and intervention strategies
  • Experience with curriculum development for students with additional learning needs
  • Familiarity with EAL support frameworks and strategies

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary up to £31,889 per annum
