Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students from all year groups in developing their English language skills across the curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to a wide range of language abilities and learning needs.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to language development.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing targeted support and feedback.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the needs of each student.
  • Participate in the school’s pastoral care system, contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.
  • Stay up to date with best practices in EAL teaching and integrate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
  • Work closely with parents and guardians to support student learning and development.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English as an Additional Language.
  • Strong understanding of language acquisition and teaching methodologies.
  • Experience working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to student well-being and holistic development.

Preferred

  • Experience with the IB or similar international curriculum.
  • Familiarity with the use of technology in language teaching.
  • Experience in a boarding school or international school setting.
  • Fluency in additional languages.
