Key Responsibilities:
- Support students from all year groups in developing their English language skills across the curriculum.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons that cater to a wide range of language abilities and learning needs.
- Collaborate with other teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to language development.
- Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing targeted support and feedback.
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans to meet the needs of each student.
- Participate in the school’s pastoral care system, contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture.
- Stay up to date with best practices in EAL teaching and integrate innovative teaching methods into lessons.
- Work closely with parents and guardians to support student learning and development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English as an Additional Language.
- Strong understanding of language acquisition and teaching methodologies.
- Experience working with students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to student well-being and holistic development.
Preferred
- Experience with the IB or similar international curriculum.
- Familiarity with the use of technology in language teaching.
- Experience in a boarding school or international school setting.
- Fluency in additional languages.
