The Opportunity:
As an EAL Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students' language development and academic success. You will be part of a collaborative team that empowers students to thrive in a diverse, international setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cultivate a respectful and joyful classroom environment focused on language acquisition
- Employ differentiated instruction strategies to enhance student motivation and achievement
- Collect and analyze data from WIDA and other sources to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver a language-acquisition program aligned with the PYP framework
- Communicate regularly with families and teachers to support student learning and home language development
- Commit to ongoing professional development in EAL teaching methodologies
- Plan and document instruction using Toddle in alignment with program objectives
- Maintain accurate student records and reports in accordance with school guidelines
- Engage with students through co-curricular activities and school events
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree from a reputable international university
- At least five years of EAL teaching experience in a school setting
- Fluency in English
- Experience in facilitating language acquisition in an elementary setting
Preferred
- Experience in an international school environment
- Proven track record in supporting student learning through innovative approaches
- Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP)
