This role is central to ensuring all learners have access to quality education through differentiated instruction and a strong focus on student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach EAL throughout the MYP program (Grades 6-10) using a concept-based and UDL approach.
  • Design and deliver differentiated instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the EAL Department and other academic departments.
  • Co-plan and co-teach with other subject teachers based on student needs and school goals.
  • Assess student progress in alignment with the school’s philosophy and ATLs.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and Grade Level teachers on student progress and concerns.
  • Participate in team planning, curriculum development, and school improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in professional development and lifelong learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to school events, advisory programs, and extracurricular activities.
  • Support students in the Service Learning program and demonstrate a commitment to community engagement.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in English Literature, Linguistics, or a related field, with a degree in Education or teaching license.
  • EAL Teaching Certification or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of teaching experience.
  • Experience in MYP or inquiry-based teaching with a concepts-based approach.
  • Understanding of the developmental needs of Middle School and early High School students.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in using technology in the classroom.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching in an international school or demonstrated intercultural competence.
  • A second teachable subject is an asset.
