As an EAL Teacher - Middle School, you will play a vital role in helping students develop the language skills needed to thrive in mainstream classes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver individualised and small-group support programmes tailored to EAL students
  • Collaborate closely with subject teachers to integrate language development across the curriculum
  • Monitor student progress through regular assessments and targeted feedback
  • Support students’ academic confidence and personal development
  • Contribute to collaborative planning and curriculum development
  • Participate actively in the school’s community and extracurricular activities
  • Provide coaching and motivation to learners with a clear focus on measurable language progress
  • Work within a dynamic international context in a supportive and inclusive school environment

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Degree in English, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a closely related field
  • Teaching qualification or recognised qualification in EAL / ESL
  • Proven experience teaching EAL students at secondary level, preferably within an international school context
  • Strong ability to coach, motivate, and support learners
  • Highly motivated educator with excellent pedagogical skills and a strong commitment to student-centred learning
  • Confident, flexible, and collaborative professional who enjoys working with young people in an international boarding school environment
  • EU/EFTA Citizenship

Preferred

  • Experience with international curricula such as the IB Diploma or Swiss Matura
  • Fluency in additional languages
  • Experience working in an international or multicultural setting
