The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced EAL Teacher to join a dynamic team and support multilingual learners across the IB MYP, DP, and IGCSE Programmes. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on student success and contribute to a supportive, inclusive learning community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, differentiated instruction to develop students’ English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
- Collaborate with classroom and subject teachers to adapt materials and support student access to the full curriculum.
- Integrate inquiry-based and transdisciplinary approaches to promote independent and confident learners.
- Support student reflection, goal-setting, and language development through personalized learning strategies.
- Promote international-mindedness, linguistic diversity, and a sense of belonging in the classroom.
- Work closely with the Inclusion Team and wider school community to ensure student success.
- Teach or support additional subjects as required, depending on student needs and timetable structures.
- Demonstrate strong planning, organization, and professionalism in all aspects of teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience teaching EAL in international or multilingual settings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field with a recognized teaching qualification.
- Strong knowledge of WIDA, differentiation, scaffolding, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Fluent English proficiency (verbal and written).
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying informed of current research in language acquisition.
- Passion for supporting multilingual learners and empowering them to succeed across the curriculum.
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification or certification in EAL or TESOL.
- Experience leading workshops or supporting staff in developing EAL strategies.
- Familiarity with IB MYP, DP, and IGCSE Programmes.
