Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons that engage and challenge students.
- Collaborate with the Director of Mathematics and Deputy Subject Leader to enhance the department’s teaching and learning strategies.
- Contribute to the design and development of the mathematics curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners.
- Support students through extra-curricular activities that promote mathematical skills and enthusiasm.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure continuous improvement.
- Work effectively as part of a team to create an outstanding educational experience for students.
- Promote the importance of mathematics in transforming students' numeracy, aspirations, and lives.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
- Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for teaching mathematics.
- Experience or training in early career teacher development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting.
- Experience with extra-curricular activities related to mathematics.
- Familiarity with teaching in a multi-ethnic and diverse environment.
- Experience in using innovative teaching methods and technology in the classroom.
