Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Mathematics and Deputy Subject Leader to enhance the department’s teaching and learning strategies.
  • Contribute to the design and development of the mathematics curriculum, ensuring it meets the needs of all learners.
  • Support students through extra-curricular activities that promote mathematical skills and enthusiasm.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching practice and student outcomes.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Work effectively as part of a team to create an outstanding educational experience for students.
  • Promote the importance of mathematics in transforming students' numeracy, aspirations, and lives.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for teaching mathematics.
  • Experience or training in early career teacher development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in curriculum development or leadership within a school setting.
  • Experience with extra-curricular activities related to mathematics.
  • Familiarity with teaching in a multi-ethnic and diverse environment.
  • Experience in using innovative teaching methods and technology in the classroom.
