The Opportunity:
As an Early Intervention Learning Support Teacher, you will support young learners in making progress in line with their peers. You will work closely with children, teachers, and families to identify and address emerging learning needs early. This role is ideal for someone passionate about making a difference in the early stages of a child’s education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and support children with emerging learning needs through classroom observations and assessments.
- Deliver targeted small-group interventions to help students reach their potential.
- Develop individual action plans that support learning both in school and at home.
- Collaborate with teachers and families to provide consistent and effective support.
- Assess students who are not meeting expected progress and refer to appropriate support services.
- Communicate clearly with parents, teachers, and colleagues to ensure a coordinated approach.
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Stay up to date with child development milestones and early indicators of learning difficulties.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Proven experience in early intervention and learning support.
- Strong understanding of the Early Years and KS1 British curriculum.
- Knowledge of child development milestones and early indicators of learning difficulties.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trust quickly with children, parents, and teachers.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Preferred
- Experience working in an international school setting.
- Familiarity with Cognita’s learner power approach and educational philosophy.
- Experience with data interpretation and strategy development.
- Flexibility to work part-time and on a temporary basis.
