The Opportunity:

As an Early Years Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching team and creating a nurturing environment for young children. This position is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about Early Years education and wants to grow within a highly respected and supportive EYFS team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teaching team in delivering a safe and high-quality early years environment
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of the curriculum through creative and inclusive educational activities
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children through appropriate supervision and adherence to statutory responsibilities
  • Follow all school policies, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety standards
  • Promote positive interactions with children by providing stimulating activities that support their development
  • Contribute to the maintenance of high standards in physical and emotional care, and personal and food hygiene
  • Assist with routine tasks such as lifting, holding, and changing children, as well as toileting duties
  • Encourage positive behaviour and address conflicts promptly in line with established policies

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Experience working with young children in an early years setting
  • A passion for Early Years education and a commitment to child development
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow school policies and procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Preferred

  • Relevant qualifications in Early Years education or childcare
  • Experience with curriculum planning and delivery
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
  • Flexibility to work term-time only and during school holidays
  • Experience with nursery routines and organisational matters
