The Opportunity:
As an Early Years Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the teaching team and creating a nurturing environment for young children. This position is perfect for someone who is enthusiastic about Early Years education and wants to grow within a highly respected and supportive EYFS team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the teaching team in delivering a safe and high-quality early years environment
- Assist with the planning and delivery of the curriculum through creative and inclusive educational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of children through appropriate supervision and adherence to statutory responsibilities
- Follow all school policies, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety standards
- Promote positive interactions with children by providing stimulating activities that support their development
- Contribute to the maintenance of high standards in physical and emotional care, and personal and food hygiene
- Assist with routine tasks such as lifting, holding, and changing children, as well as toileting duties
- Encourage positive behaviour and address conflicts promptly in line with established policies
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Experience working with young children in an early years setting
- A passion for Early Years education and a commitment to child development
- Ability to work as part of a team and follow school policies and procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Preferred
- Relevant qualifications in Early Years education or childcare
- Experience with curriculum planning and delivery
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies
- Flexibility to work term-time only and during school holidays
- Experience with nursery routines and organisational matters
