Job Description

Summary:

Early Years Practitioner needed at a school in Henley-on-Thames. Support children aged 2 to 5 with learning and development.

The Opportunity:

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will support the learning and development of children aged 2 to 5, ensuring a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment. You will also manage the Breakfast Club and contribute to holiday club provisions, making a meaningful impact on young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate, creative, and stimulating activities in line with the EYFS framework.
  • Run the before school provision – Breakfast Club.
  • Work as an Early Years Instructor at holiday camps during school holidays.
  • Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and development.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Promote children’s independence, confidence, and well-being.
  • Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all children in your care.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting.
  • Sound knowledge of the EYFS and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).

Preferred

  • Experience with running Breakfast Club or holiday camps.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and evaluation.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
