The Opportunity:

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and learning of young children in a nurturing and inclusive environment. You will work closely with teachers to deliver engaging activities tailored to individual needs, while promoting emotional and social growth. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people with autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the teacher in planning, organising, and delivering engaging learning activities tailored to all pupils’ needs.
  • Maintain a purposeful, well-organised, and supportive learning environment that encourages independence and engagement.
  • Promote inclusion and ensure equal access to learning and development opportunities.
  • Supervise and deliver pre-prepared activities during short-term teacher absence.
  • Foster positive relationships, supporting pupils’ emotional and social development.
  • Take responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with autism or additional needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Confidence in working independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm in delivering engaging learning experiences.
