The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Early Years SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team and support children with special educational needs. Key Responsibilities:
- Support children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
- Assist in the planning, delivery, and review of individual learning plans and interventions.
- Work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and effective approach to learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through engaging and supportive interactions.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
- Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance practice and knowledge.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for all children.
- Contribute to the development of innovative teaching strategies and assessments.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Hold a qualification such as NNEB or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD.
- A genuine passion for children's learning and development.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and self-improvement.
- High expectations for both student achievement and personal growth.
Preferred
- Experience in Early Years education.
- Familiarity with SEND policies and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
