The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Early Years SEND Learning Support Assistant to join our dynamic team and support children with special educational needs. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on young learners while developing your own professional skills in a supportive and progressive setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support children with special educational needs, particularly those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), in a stimulating and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the planning, delivery, and review of individual learning plans and interventions.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and other support staff to ensure a consistent and effective approach to learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being through engaging and supportive interactions.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to the teaching team.
  • Participate in staff development and training opportunities to enhance practice and knowledge.
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and encouraging environment for all children.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative teaching strategies and assessments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Hold a qualification such as NNEB or equivalent.
  • Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD.
  • A genuine passion for children's learning and development.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and self-improvement.
  • High expectations for both student achievement and personal growth.

Preferred

  • Experience in Early Years education.
  • Familiarity with SEND policies and procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
