The Opportunity:

We are seeking an Early Years Support Worker - Supply to join our Pre-School and Early Years Team. This role supports the Lead Classroom Teacher and provides a caring, secure environment for children through individual attention and group activities. It is a flexible, ongoing agreement with the potential for varied hours and days of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lead Classroom Teacher in the Pre-School during term time.
  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment through individual attention and group activities.
  • Implement the Curriculum for Excellence under the guidance of Lead Classroom Teachers.
  • Support Twilight Sessions, After School Club, and Holiday Club for children aged 3-12.
  • Supervise and educate children through play, covering all areas of development.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with parents and carers.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to child protection, health and safety, and equal opportunities.
  • Use IT systems effectively for communication and record-keeping.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Registered or eligible for registration with the SSSC.
  • Keen interest in child development and understanding of the needs of parents with young children.
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements related to Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Additional Support Needs, and Child Protection.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.
  • Excellent IT skills.

Preferred

  • Experience working in early years settings.
  • Experience with the Curriculum for Excellence.
  • Experience in supporting children with additional support needs.
  • Experience in managing group activities and play-based learning.
