The Opportunity:
We are seeking an Early Years Support Worker - Supply to join our Pre-School and Early Years Team. This role supports the Lead Classroom Teacher and provides a caring, secure environment for children through individual attention and group activities. It is a flexible, ongoing agreement with the potential for varied hours and days of work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Lead Classroom Teacher in the Pre-School during term time.
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment through individual attention and group activities.
- Implement the Curriculum for Excellence under the guidance of Lead Classroom Teachers.
- Support Twilight Sessions, After School Club, and Holiday Club for children aged 3-12.
- Supervise and educate children through play, covering all areas of development.
- Develop and maintain good relationships with parents and carers.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements related to child protection, health and safety, and equal opportunities.
- Use IT systems effectively for communication and record-keeping.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Registered or eligible for registration with the SSSC.
- Keen interest in child development and understanding of the needs of parents with young children.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements related to Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, Additional Support Needs, and Child Protection.
- Ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, parents, and the wider community.
- Excellent IT skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in early years settings.
- Experience with the Curriculum for Excellence.
- Experience in supporting children with additional support needs.
- Experience in managing group activities and play-based learning.
