The Opportunity:

As an Early Years Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the early learning experiences of young children. You will work within a team that values the Reggio Emilia approach and the Flight curriculum, promoting creativity, curiosity, and confidence in learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and implement engaging, child-centered learning experiences.
  • Support the holistic development of young learners through play-based and inquiry-driven teaching.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages exploration and discovery.
  • Communicate regularly with families to support children’s learning and development.
  • Document and assess student progress using the Flight curriculum and Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework.
  • Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance teaching practices.
  • Engage in reflective practice and continuous improvement as a co-learner and co-researcher with students.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including awareness of building accessibility limitations.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in an early years setting.
  • Strong understanding of the Reggio Emilia approach and the Flight curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to collaborative teaching and reflective practice.

Preferred

  • Experience working in an inclusive and diverse learning environment.
  • Familiarity with Alberta’s Early Learning and Care Framework.
  • Experience with play-based and inquiry-based learning approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team setting.
