The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Economics lessons to students across all age groups.
  • Develop and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school and support students through pastoral duties as a Form Tutor.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high standard of teaching and learning.
  • Stay up to date with developments in Economics and incorporate these into the curriculum.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the planning and review of the Economics curriculum.
  • Support the school’s mission by fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant degree and strong academic background in Economics or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in teaching Economics at a secondary level.
  • A passion for Economics and the ability to communicate complex concepts effectively.
  • A commitment to pastoral care and willingness to act as a Form Tutor.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching within both the maintained and independent sectors.
  • A willingness to contribute to co-curricular activities and school events.
  • Experience with the UK curriculum and examination systems (e.g., GCSE, A Level).
  • A track record of professional development and continued learning in Economics education.
