The Opportunity:

As an Education Support Worker, you will play a vital role in helping students with additional needs thrive in a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to ensure students receive the care, guidance, and encouragement they need to grow and succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with disabilities and additional needs throughout the school day, helping them access learning and develop new skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
  • Promote student wellbeing, independence, and inclusion through engaging and meaningful activities.
  • Assist with daily routines, including personal care, mobility, and communication support as needed.
  • Encourage and support students in building confidence, social skills, and self-esteem.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, individualized education for each student.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with staff and families about student progress and needs.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, patient approach.
  • The ability to work as part of a team while showing enthusiasm and initiative.
  • Strong basic levels of literacy and numeracy.
  • A positive attitude towards training, learning, and personal development.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion, wellbeing, and respect for all.

Preferred

  • Experience working with children and young people with disabilities or additional needs.
  • Experience in an educational or care setting.
  • Knowledge of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Experience with creative activities such as art, music, sport, or reading.
  • Experience in safeguarding and child protection.
