The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging physical education lessons aligned with the Alberta Education curriculum and the IB PYP framework.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and well-being.
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate physical education with other subjects and school-wide initiatives.
- Develop and implement assessment strategies that support student growth and achievement in physical education.
- Promote healthy lifestyles and physical activity both inside and outside the classroom.
- Participate in school events, parent engagement activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and performance in physical education.
- Support the school’s mission by contributing to a culture of collaboration, innovation, and student-centered learning.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Alberta.
- Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience at the elementary level.
- Strong knowledge of Alberta Education curriculum and the IB PYP framework.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and colleagues.
Preferred
- Experience teaching in an international or IB school setting.
- Background in sports coaching or extracurricular program development.
- Proficiency in using technology to enhance physical education instruction.
- Experience with differentiated instruction and inclusive teaching practices.
