The Opportunity:
As an Engineering Lecturer, you will play a vital role in developing the next generation of engineers and supporting industry growth in emerging sectors such as Offshore Wind Technology and Lithium Extraction. This is a dynamic and impactful position that combines teaching with real-world application.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality engineering education to students across a range of disciplines.
- Support the development of the future workforce in partnership with industry.
- Manage and maintain state-of-the-art facilities, including CAD studios and mechatronics labs.
- Inspire and motivate students through innovative and practical teaching methods.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Provide pastoral support to students and contribute to their overall development.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and incorporate them into teaching practices.
- Participate in professional development and training opportunities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Mechanical and industrial electrical/electronic maintenance background (including hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and robotic systems).
- Level 3 apprenticeship in maintenance operations (or equivalent).
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
Preferred
- Food & Drink maintenance industry experience.
- Level 4 HNC or equivalent.
- Experience working with emerging engineering sectors.
