Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students aged 11–18, aligned with GCSE standards.
  • Plan and implement engaging and innovative teaching strategies that promote student achievement and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and deliver a leadership programme that fosters character and social responsibility.
  • Support the school’s mission by contributing to a positive, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance.
  • Engage with parents and carers to support student progress and well-being.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven ability to teach English to GCSE standard.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering outstanding attainment and achievement.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to working in a values-based, inclusive environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in a faith-based or leadership-focused school setting.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology integration.
  • Experience in pastoral care or student support.
  • Familiarity with Star Academies’ values and mission.
