Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality lessons in line with the AQA specification at GCSE and A level.
  • Engage and inspire students through creative and innovative teaching methods.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support the development of the English department.
  • Contribute to the school’s ethos by fostering positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Support student progress and achievement through effective assessment and feedback.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities related to English.
  • Maintain accurate records and report student progress regularly.
  • Stay up to date with developments in English education and incorporate new ideas into teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Experience of teaching to AQA specification at GCSE and A level.
  • Commitment to student success and a passion for English teaching.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a Catholic school or similar educational setting.
  • Experience with the Duke of Edinburgh Programme or other extracurricular initiatives.
  • Experience with professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practice.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods or curriculum development.
