The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of young people. You will deliver high-quality teaching that drives achievement and fosters a love of learning in a supportive and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students aged 11 to 18, with a focus on GCSE preparation.
  • Develop and implement creative teaching strategies that inspire and motivate students.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and high-quality curriculum across the school.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice and leadership skills.
  • Support the school’s leadership programme and contribute to the development of student character and social action.
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes respect and achievement.
  • Work closely with students, parents, and other staff to support the holistic development of each pupil.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A degree-level qualification and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven ability to teach English to GCSE standard.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering outstanding attainment and achievement in a school setting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a leadership specialism.
  • Experience in teaching within a faith-based or diverse community setting.
  • Experience with innovative teaching methods and technology in the classroom.
  • Experience in mentoring or leading other teachers.
