The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering an inspiring and ambitious English curriculum to students of all abilities. You will help foster a love of learning and ensure that every student feels confident and motivated to achieve their personal best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire students and promote a love of English.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that supports the progression and attainment of all learners.
  • Support students of all abilities through differentiated instruction and targeted intervention.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and improve teaching and learning across the faculty.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to support student learning and development.
  • Participate in professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching practice.
  • Contribute to the school’s wider vision and ethos by promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English.
  • A degree-level qualification in English or a related subject.
  • Experience in teaching English at secondary level.
  • Strong classroom management and teaching skills.
  • Commitment to student progress and attainment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A clear vision of the value of English in education.

Preferred

  • Experience with Early Careers Framework (ECT) training.
  • Experience in mentoring or supporting new teachers.
  • Experience in delivering curriculum-based projects or extracurricular activities in English.
  • Familiarity with the SHARE Multi-Academy Trust and its values.
