Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that inspire a love of English and literature.
- Support students in developing strong writing, reading, and analytical skills.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a consistent and progressive curriculum.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted feedback and support.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in cross-phase initiatives.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
- Stay up to date with developments in the subject and incorporate innovative teaching methods.
- Work closely with pastoral staff to support student well-being and personal development.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Strong subject knowledge across the English curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
- Commitment to the school’s ethos and values.
- Experience in delivering GCSE-level English courses.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Experience in working with diverse student populations.
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes.
- Experience in leading or mentoring other teachers.
- Familiarity with the use of digital tools in the classroom.
