The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality education and inspiring students to achieve their full potential. This is an exciting opportunity for both early career teachers and experienced educators to join a school undergoing significant development and improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students across key stages.
  • Develop and implement schemes of work that align with the school’s high standards and curriculum requirements.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
  • Support the inclusion and achievement of all students, including those from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds.
  • Participate in whole-school professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practice.
  • Uphold and promote the school’s behaviour policies to ensure a positive and focused learning environment.
  • Engage in the induction and development of early career teachers where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English.
  • Experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Commitment to high standards and student achievement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience of teaching in a school with a similar ethos or improvement trajectory.
  • Experience in leading or supporting early career teachers.
  • Familiarity with current educational research and pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience in developing and delivering cross-curricular projects.
