Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students across key stages.
- Develop and implement schemes of work that align with the school’s high standards and curriculum requirements.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing targeted support and intervention where needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and enhance teaching and learning across the department.
- Support the inclusion and achievement of all students, including those from disadvantaged and vulnerable backgrounds.
- Participate in whole-school professional development and contribute to the continuous improvement of teaching practice.
- Uphold and promote the school’s behaviour policies to ensure a positive and focused learning environment.
- Engage in the induction and development of early career teachers where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
- Strong subject knowledge in English.
- Experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
- Commitment to high standards and student achievement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred
- Experience of teaching in a school with a similar ethos or improvement trajectory.
- Experience in leading or supporting early career teachers.
- Familiarity with current educational research and pedagogical approaches.
- Experience in developing and delivering cross-curricular projects.
