Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging, challenging, and inspirational lessons that promote rapid student progress.
  • Foster a love of reading, writing, and literature across a broad range of abilities.
  • Implement effective and inclusive teaching strategies that support all learners.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress to ensure continuous improvement and achievement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on whole-school literacy initiatives and co-planning.
  • Contribute to the development of students’ confidence, communication skills, and personal growth.
  • Support students in discovering future pathways through bespoke guidance and curriculum design.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practice.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant degree and QTS.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality, engaging English lessons.
  • Strong communication skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to raising student achievement and inclusion in teaching.
  • Experience in assessment, monitoring, and evaluating student progress.
  • Passion for English and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to whole-school literacy initiatives.
  • Background in Continuing Professional Development and leadership opportunities.
  • Familiarity with Teaching English as a Second Language or inclusive teaching practices.
  • Experience working in a multi-academy trust or similar educational setting.
