The Opportunity:

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development and delivery of the English curriculum from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5
- Lead initiatives to improve student achievement and learning outcomes in English
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices across the department
- Mentor and train members of the English team to promote professional growth
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and curriculum changes
- Foster an inclusive and motivating learning environment that supports all students
- Contribute to the leadership and management of the English department
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay at the forefront of teaching innovation
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status with a proven track record in teaching English at Key Stages 3 to 5
- Demonstrated leadership experience within an English department or similar educational setting
- Experience in curriculum development and improving student outcomes
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to inclusion
Preferred
- Passion for English and a desire to raise standards across all student groups
- Experience with teaching diverse student populations, including those with EAL, SEND, and pupil premium backgrounds
- Commitment to innovation and reflective practice in teaching and learning
- Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources
