The Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our dedicated department. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of English education and make a meaningful impact on student achievement and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and delivery of the English curriculum from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 5
  • Lead initiatives to improve student achievement and learning outcomes in English
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning practices across the department
  • Mentor and train members of the English team to promote professional growth
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching strategies and curriculum changes
  • Foster an inclusive and motivating learning environment that supports all students
  • Contribute to the leadership and management of the English department
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay at the forefront of teaching innovation

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status with a proven track record in teaching English at Key Stages 3 to 5
  • Demonstrated leadership experience within an English department or similar educational setting
  • Experience in curriculum development and improving student outcomes
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with a commitment to inclusion

Preferred

  • Passion for English and a desire to raise standards across all student groups
  • Experience with teaching diverse student populations, including those with EAL, SEND, and pupil premium backgrounds
  • Commitment to innovation and reflective practice in teaching and learning
  • Familiarity with modern teaching technologies and resources
