Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all students across Key Stages and abilities.
- Promote student interest and commitment to the subject through creative and inclusive teaching methods.
- Implement whole school policies, including equal opportunities, health and safety, and security.
- Support the identification of underachievement and celebrate good work and effort as part of a team.
- Contribute to the continuous development of the Department through assessment and curriculum implementation.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for attendance, punctuality, and student assessments.
- Support links with feeder primary schools and colleges of further and higher education.
- Participate in lesson observations and work scrutiny to ensure consistent teaching standards.
- Assist with the administration of the Department and support subject-related pupil activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Ability to teach across Key Stages and adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs.
- Strong classroom management and discipline skills.
- Experience in delivering PSHE and acting as a form tutor.
- Commitment to the school's values and mission.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
- Familiarity with curriculum developments and innovative teaching practices.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience in pastoral support and personal development programs.
