As an English Teacher, you will deliver engaging and inclusive lessons that support academic achievement and a love of reading, writing, and language across all Key Stages. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the needs of all students across Key Stages and abilities.
  • Promote student interest and commitment to the subject through creative and inclusive teaching methods.
  • Implement whole school policies, including equal opportunities, health and safety, and security.
  • Support the identification of underachievement and celebrate good work and effort as part of a team.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the Department through assessment and curriculum implementation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for attendance, punctuality, and student assessments.
  • Support links with feeder primary schools and colleges of further and higher education.
  • Participate in lesson observations and work scrutiny to ensure consistent teaching standards.
  • Assist with the administration of the Department and support subject-related pupil activities.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Ability to teach across Key Stages and adapt lessons to meet diverse student needs.
  • Strong classroom management and discipline skills.
  • Experience in delivering PSHE and acting as a form tutor.
  • Commitment to the school's values and mission.

Preferred

  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Familiarity with curriculum developments and innovative teaching practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience in pastoral support and personal development programs.
