Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons for KS3, KS4, and Functional Skills in English.
- Maintain classroom discipline and set clear learning targets for students.
- Keep accurate records of student progress and report regularly to parents.
- Support students with individualised learning packages and tailored pathways.
- Contribute to the Enrichment Programme and uphold safeguarding policies.
- Attend meetings and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development.
- Act as a form tutor and provide pastoral support to students.
- Cover for absent colleagues and assist with exam invigilation.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
- Experience teaching English at KS3 and above, with the ability to deliver basic skills in other subjects.
- Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
- Ability to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities, and student well-being.
Preferred
- Experience with students with complex needs, including ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional support needs.
- Experience in curriculum development and pastoral support.
- Familiarity with alternative education provision and bespoke learning pathways.
