Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons for KS3, KS4, and Functional Skills in English.
  • Maintain classroom discipline and set clear learning targets for students.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress and report regularly to parents.
  • Support students with individualised learning packages and tailored pathways.
  • Contribute to the Enrichment Programme and uphold safeguarding policies.
  • Attend meetings and collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development.
  • Act as a form tutor and provide pastoral support to students.
  • Cover for absent colleagues and assist with exam invigilation.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
  • Experience teaching English at KS3 and above, with the ability to deliver basic skills in other subjects.
  • Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equal opportunities, and student well-being.

Preferred

  • Experience with students with complex needs, including ADHD, dyslexia, and emotional support needs.
  • Experience in curriculum development and pastoral support.
  • Familiarity with alternative education provision and bespoke learning pathways.
