Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver a tailored English curriculum across Entry Level, Functional Skills, Key Stage 3, and GCSE.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students to motivate and engage them in learning.
- Support students with complex behaviours through consistent, flexible, and non-judgmental approaches.
- Collaborate with parents, therapists, and other professionals to ensure holistic student development.
- Contribute to curriculum development and extra-curricular opportunities that reflect your expertise and passion.
- Advocate for students and participate in decision-making processes that drive school outcomes.
- Maintain high aspirations for all students, regardless of their learning journey or background.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with experience working with students who have SEMH and/or SEND.
- Ability to teach across a range of ability levels, from Entry Level to GCSE.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience managing complex and challenging behaviours in a therapeutic setting.
- Commitment to a child-centred, collaborative approach to education.
Preferred
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).
- Background in special educational needs and disabilities support.
- Familiarity with therapeutic teaching methods and trauma-informed practices.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to curriculum and extra-curricular development.
