The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a key role in shaping the academic and personal growth of students aged 10–18. You will deliver high-quality instruction in A Level, IB, and IGCSE English courses, while contributing to the school's vibrant community through pastoral support and collaboration with colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach A Level English Literature, IB English A/B, and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language).
  • Deliver engaging lessons that support student achievement and progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance teaching strategies.
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to student wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • Attend parent-teacher meetings and write student reports in line with school policies.
  • Assist with class cover and support the wider school community through tutoring and extracurricular involvement.
  • Maintain high expectations for students and foster a positive learning environment.
  • Act as a role model and uphold the school’s values and international ethos.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Proven experience teaching A Level English Literature, IB English A/B, and/or IGCSE English (First or Second Language).
  • University degree and recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong understanding of English language curricula and the ability to deliver engaging lessons.
  • Excellent planning, assessment, and feedback skills.
  • Experience teaching students aged 10–18.
  • Commitment to student wellbeing and safeguarding.
  • C2-level English proficiency (or native equivalent).

Preferred

  • Experience teaching additional subjects such as Global Perspectives or ToK.
  • Confidence in using ICT in teaching.
  • Dynamic and adaptable professional with a commitment to continuous professional development.
