The Opportunity:

An English Teacher is needed to join a newly opened, growing school with state-of-the-art facilities. This role offers the chance to shape a department and inspire students with a passion for English. The school is committed to excellence, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students aged 11–16, ensuring engaging and effective learning.
  • Work closely with the Head of English to maintain consistency and excellence across the department.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the English curriculum and extracurricular activities.
  • Support student progress through individualized teaching, assessment, and pastoral care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, planning, and professional development opportunities.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student success.
  • Engage with parents and the wider school community through regular communication and involvement in school events.
  • Stay up to date with current educational trends and best practices in English teaching.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant subject knowledge in English.
  • Experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4 (Years 7–11).
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and professional development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.

Preferred

  • Experience in leading or contributing to extracurricular activities in English or Performing Arts.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL) or bilingual education.
  • Previous experience in a school with a strong focus on student success and academic achievement.
  • Familiarity with the NSB Trust or similar educational institutions.
