The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate English Teacher to join our Reading team on a full-time, permanent basis. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver high-quality English lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
- Utilise modern teaching methods and technologies, including video conferencing and online learning resources.
- Foster a student-centred, self-directed learning environment that encourages independence and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support continuous professional development.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning outcomes.
- Engage with students and parents to build positive relationships and ensure a supportive learning environment.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and events, contributing to the school’s mission and values.
- Stay up to date with curriculum changes and educational trends to ensure effective and relevant teaching.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree or equivalent qualification in English or a related field.
- Proven experience teaching English to students in Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3-KS4).
- Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE English exam specifications.
- Ability to adapt traditional teaching methods to modern, student-centred approaches.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
