The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic and personal development of students in the Secondary School. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in line with the English National Curriculum, and will contribute to a school culture that values excellence, innovation, and student well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in line with the English National Curriculum up to KS5.
  • Develop and implement individualized learning plans to support student progress and achievement.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents to enhance the learning experience.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of extracurricular activities that enrich the school community.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and provide regular feedback to support learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve teaching practices and student outcomes.
  • Support the school's mission by promoting kindness, respect, and a culture of inclusion.
  • Undertake professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree.
  • PGCE or PGDE and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
  • Experience in teaching English up to KS5 is an advantage.

Preferred

  • Experience with the English National Curriculum and IGCSE/IAL qualifications.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL/TEFL).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a classroom effectively and support student learning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
