The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher, you will inspire and educate students in a supportive and dynamic environment. You will deliver engaging lessons that help students achieve academic success while building confidence and life skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and individualised English lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Support students in achieving recognised qualifications and developing functional literacy
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with SEND
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect and resilience
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement therapeutic and educational strategies
- Monitor and assess student progress to ensure continuous improvement
- Participate in staff training and professional development opportunities
- Contribute to the school’s mission of rebuilding lives through education
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified English Teacher with relevant teaching experience
- Secure knowledge of teaching English Language and AQA English GCSE specifications
- Ability to deliver individualised and adapted lessons
- Commitment to working with students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
Preferred
- Experience working in a SEND environment
- Familiarity with Functional Skills qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in therapeutic or residential education settings
