Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver an engaging and differentiated English curriculum to students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Support students as a form tutor, promoting their academic and personal development.
- Monitor and track student progress, ensuring that all learners achieve their full potential.
- Contribute to departmental planning, resource development, and curriculum design.
- Participate in staff development initiatives and continue professional growth through training and collaboration.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders.
- Manage student behavior effectively within a centralized and supportive system.
- Create a safe, motivating, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Proven experience teaching at secondary level, ideally in a multi-ethnic urban school setting.
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to plan and deliver high-quality lessons using innovative teaching methods and technology.
- Commitment to high expectations and equality of access for all students.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
Preferred
- Experience working in an 11–18 school setting.
- Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language (TEFL).
- Familiarity with interactive teaching technologies and digital resources.
- Experience in pastoral care and form tutoring.
