The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher, you will play a vital role in inspiring students across Key Stages 3–5 to develop a love for English and literacy. You will be part of a supportive and innovative team dedicated to ensuring every student achieves incredible things in their learning journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English across Key Stages 3–5, delivering high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with the curriculum and national standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and ensure lessons are creative, innovative, and impactful.
  • Support students in developing their skills and knowledge in English, with a focus on literacy and reading.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching and learning across the school.
  • Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and support to students.
  • Use assessment data to monitor student progress and intervene where necessary.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that reflects the school’s values.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with experience in teaching English across Key Stages 3–5.
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and literacy.
  • Experience in curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Ability to use assessment data to monitor and support student progress.
  • Commitment to the school’s values of kindness, ambition, resilience, and respect.

Preferred

  • Experience in working with students with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND).
  • Experience in contributing to wider curriculum opportunities and extra-curricular activities.
  • Experience in collaborative teaching and working within a multi-academy trust.
  • Passion for inspiring students and fostering a love of reading and learning.
