Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to students aged 11-16 across the curriculum.
  • Develop engaging and innovative teaching resources that support student learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Support the school’s vision by promoting a positive learning environment and strong student behavior.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to departmental planning.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to staff training initiatives.
  • Engage with parents and the wider community to build strong relationships and support student success.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities that enhance student engagement and learning beyond the classroom.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to student welfare and safeguarding.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience with inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience with Teaching English as a Second Language.
  • Experience in delivering CPD or mentoring other teachers.
  • Familiarity with the latest educational technologies and teaching methodologies.
