Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality English lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
  • Develop and implement effective teaching strategies that raise student achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support whole-school improvement and curriculum development.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement.
  • Participate in the planning and delivery of cross-curricular projects and initiatives.
  • Support the school’s commitment to spiritual and moral development through the curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through extra-curricular activities and pastoral care.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS).
  • Proven experience in teaching English at Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and school improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a school with a strong track record of academic achievement.
  • Familiarity with teaching in a multi-academy trust environment.
  • Experience with pastoral care and student support.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and lead by example.
