The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher Lead Practitioner, you will lead and inspire both students and colleagues, shaping teaching and learning across the school. This role offers the chance to influence curriculum design, mentor staff, and drive academic rigour and creativity in English education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead professional development, mentoring, and coaching for colleagues.
- Design and share innovative teaching resources that challenge and support all learners.
- Contribute to curriculum design across the Trust, ensuring academic rigor and engagement.
- Support staff in developing high-quality practice rooted in scholarship and critical debate.
- Use data to inform targeted interventions and refine pedagogy for improved student outcomes.
- Create a CPD programme to equip staff with the skills to effectively teach English qualifications.
- Model inspirational teaching and foster a culture of intellectual stretch and critical thinking.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality English education aligned with exam board specifications.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Recent experience teaching English Literature and/or Language with a track record of strong student outcomes.
- Ability to lead high-impact CPD and inspire colleagues with subject knowledge and pedagogy.
- Deep understanding of exam board specifications, curriculum design, and developments in English education.
- Vision and drive to mentor colleagues and build departmental capacity.
Preferred
- Experience in curriculum leadership or senior roles within a school or Trust.
- Strong track record in developing and implementing innovative teaching strategies.
- Experience with data analysis and its application in educational improvement.
