The Opportunity:
We are seeking an English Teacher - MAT Cover to join our dynamic department and support student learning in Key Stages 3 and 4. This role is ideal for someone looking to build experience in a supportive and inclusive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in English to Key Stages 3 and 4 students
- Support student progress through effective teaching and assessment strategies
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of the English curriculum
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the school and department
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Engage in professional development to enhance teaching practice
- Monitor and assess student performance regularly
- Support students from diverse backgrounds and abilities
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards QTS
- Strong knowledge of English literature and language for Key Stages 3 and 4
- Experience in planning and delivering lessons to a range of learners
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion in teaching
Preferred
- Experience in teaching within a MAT setting
- Familiarity with PSHE and Citizenship curriculum
- Experience with supporting students who are new to the country
- Background in creative teaching methods
