The Opportunity:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified English Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join a vibrant and supportive department. This role is ideal for Early Career Teachers and offers a comprehensive support programme. The successful candidate will teach across Years 9-13 and contribute to a dynamic, high-achieving department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English to students across Years 9-13, including up to A-Level.
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet curriculum requirements and inspire student learning.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in a supportive and innovative department.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of teaching methods and resources.
  • Support student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Engage with the wider school community and contribute to school events and activities.
  • Maintain high standards of teaching and student achievement.
  • Undertake pastoral duties where appropriate.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
  • Ability to teach across Years 9-13, including up to A-Level.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.

Preferred

  • Experience in teaching English as a second language.
  • Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
  • Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
  • Experience in a school with a strong focus on student well-being and personal development.
