The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and well-qualified English Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join a vibrant and supportive department. This role is ideal for Early Career Teachers and offers a comprehensive support programme. The successful candidate will teach across Years 9-13 and contribute to a dynamic, high-achieving department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach English to students across Years 9-13, including up to A-Level.
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons that meet curriculum requirements and inspire student learning.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in a supportive and innovative department.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of teaching methods and resources.
- Support student progress through formative and summative assessments.
- Engage with the wider school community and contribute to school events and activities.
- Maintain high standards of teaching and student achievement.
- Undertake pastoral duties where appropriate.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified teacher with relevant experience in English education.
- Ability to teach across Years 9-13, including up to A-Level.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in working with students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
Preferred
- Experience in teaching English as a second language.
- Experience in leading or contributing to curriculum development.
- Familiarity with innovative teaching methods and technologies.
- Experience in a school with a strong focus on student well-being and personal development.
