The Opportunity:

As an English Teacher - Outreach, you will deliver one-to-one lessons tailored to students with diverse needs, helping them achieve academic success in English Studies. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through flexible and personalised teaching methods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver individualised English lessons tailored to each student's academic level and learning objectives.
  • Teach a range of topics at GCSE or equivalent levels with a focus on engagement and motivation.
  • Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
  • Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
  • Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
  • Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
  • Remain patient and flexible in the approach to learning and instruction.
  • Work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching English.
  • Experience teaching English Functional Skills from Entry Level up to Level 2.
  • Experience with OCR or AQA GCSE English Language and Literature.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and related topics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).

Preferred

  • Experience working with SEND students.
  • Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.
  • Professional development and SEND-specific training experience.
