The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher - Outreach, you will deliver one-to-one lessons tailored to students with diverse needs, helping them achieve academic success in English Studies. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact through flexible and personalised teaching methods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised English lessons tailored to each student's academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of topics at GCSE or equivalent levels with a focus on engagement and motivation.
- Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Collaborate with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
- Remain patient and flexible in the approach to learning and instruction.
- Work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching English.
- Experience teaching English Functional Skills from Entry Level up to Level 2.
- Experience with OCR or AQA GCSE English Language and Literature.
- Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and related topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A valid DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
Preferred
- Experience working with SEND students.
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.
- Professional development and SEND-specific training experience.
