The Opportunity:
As an English Teacher - Outreach, you will deliver one-to-one lessons to students with diverse needs, helping them engage with English Studies through tailored and accessible teaching. This role offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of students who require individualised support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver individualised English lessons aligned with the student's academic level and learning objectives.
- Teach a range of topics at GCSE or equivalent levels.
- Promote subject understanding, engagement, and motivation in students.
- Adapt lesson content and teaching methods to support students with SEND and other learning challenges.
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Work collaboratively with pastoral teams to ensure holistic support for each student.
- Maintain thorough records of lessons and progress in line with educational requirements.
Qualifications & Skills:
Required
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant experience teaching English.
- Experience in teaching English Functional Skills Entry Level up to Level 2 or GCSE English Language and Literature (OCR or AQA).
- Flexibility to work in various locations, including students’ homes or other designated learning environments.
- Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one.
Preferred
- Experience working with SEND students.
- Excellent knowledge of the English curriculum and related topics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students in a one-to-one setting.
