Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons tailored to the needs of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Support the development of literacy and numeracy skills in line with the school’s core curriculum priorities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to plan and deliver dynamic and imaginative teaching strategies.
  • Use electronic devices to enhance learning and promote independence among students.
  • Contribute to the wider development of students, including their social, emotional, and academic growth.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to the school’s continuous improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
  • Support the school’s values, including the 'Five Rs', in all aspects of teaching and student interaction.

Qualifications & Skills:

Required

  • Qualified teacher with QTS or equivalent.
  • Relevant experience in teaching English, including experience working with students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and support the school’s values and vision.

Preferred

  • Experience with SEND-specific teaching strategies.
  • Experience in delivering literacy and numeracy strategies.
  • Experience with using technology to support learning.
  • Experience in a Multi Academy Trust or similar educational setting.
